Why this meeting?

The Democratic Party of Virginia requires each county and city to hold a reorganization meeting (caucus) every two years for the purpose of registering members and electing their Democratic Committee officers to two-year terms..

All interested Democrats in the county who are registered voters are urged to attend and become members of the Greene County Democratic Committee by signing the declaration form during the meeting. Becoming a member of the “committee” allows you to vote in the committee elections and at scheduled caucuses. Not to worry -- members don’t have any “committee duties” to perform

At the meeting, the new Greene County Democratic Committee membership will be established. Those members will then elect the officers, which include a chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary, and captains of each of the five precincts.

If you are interested in serving as an officer, you can become a candidate by notifying Mark Heinicke at 434-531-6824 or

or by nomination from the floor during the reorganization meeting.

The HOLIDAY PARTY begins immediately after the meeting at 5:00 p.m.!

Instead of the usual potluck dinner, we will share appetizers and drinks –  if you can, please bring finger-food or a beverage to share. Wine and beer are permitted.
